In 1998, Will’s family moved from Orange County to the beautiful City of Cloverdale. He was raised by his mother Julie, a teacher, and his late father Greg, a programmer and local business owner, alongside his older brother, Greg, and younger sibling, Clay.

Will’s parents were instrumental in guiding him to a path of public service and servant leadership. Both members of the Kiwanis Club, they encouraged Will to join the Cloverdale High School Key Club where he discovered the incredible benefits and inspirational nature of being of service. As a member of Key Club he stoked that ember of service into a passion for uplifting and supporting others, both in leadership and in service.

In adult life, Will continued to engage with opportunities to grow and be of support to others. He joined the Cloverdale Kiwanis Club and the Cloverdale Toastmasters Club to continue his path in service and growth as a leader. In his twenties, like many young people, Will felt the urge to leave the nest, moving to Santa Rosa for several years. In this time he reconnected with a childhood friend Morgan. They immediately fell in love, later getting married in 2025. Even living in Santa Rosa, Will was always present in Cloverdale, working for Cloverdale Computer providing needed technology services to Cloverdale’s residents and businesses.

In the era of COVID-19, Will’s family was hit hard by the untimely passing of his father-in-law and his own father’s terminal cancer diagnosis. These experiences tightened his bonds with his family and were a sharp reminder of the importance of community. In pursuit of returning to his most dear community, Will would open his own business in Cloverdale, Carter Systems Computer Repair in 2021; soon afterward, he and Morgan would move to Cloverdale.

Since returning, Will has maintained an outstanding reputation in his conduct as a business owner, engaged to the highest degree in the Cloverdale Kiwanis Club where he is the incoming Co-President with Morgan, and now aims to expand his service to his hometown by serving as a member of the City Council.

Many of you have met Will throughout his life in many different capacities: Kiwanis member, computer hero, footrace coordinator, community servant, or even barista! However you know Will, and even if you don’t yet, he is here to represent you and put your needs first.
